beautiful babies :D

since mom is visually Opaline and that is sex linked you shouldn't of gotten any Opaline's but you did So this means dad is Split to it and the baby (baby 4) can be male or female

babies 2 and 3 are Recessive pied like dad - meaning Mom is split to it because she is visually a dominant pied

baby 1 Looks like a Dominant & recessive pied combination and looks to be grey wing meaning both mom and dad are split to it - Do you have any pics of the front side of mom is her entire front side blue or does she have a clear patch? Her wing markings look like a dominant pied but i can't tell if she has the clear band across the belly

baby 2 may also be Grey wing I can't tell if the markings are grey or brown all i can tell is they are much lighter than baby 3

and I can't tell if the parents are cobalt or violet cobalt but they're blue series so the babies will all be blue for the body color as they feather out more and get the body color more You'll know more then but baby 4 does look like a Double Factor Violet so they may both be violet Cobalt after all

Thank you so much, tomorrow ill get a front picture of both parents

what points do you see on baby 2 & 3 for you to state recessive?? both have strong dominant features to me. the clear head spot mark and wing patterns higher up on the wings.

two do look paler and could be greywings .

the parents i would say are cobalt.

I agree with Nerwen. Baby 2 & 3 dont look recessive to me either

The hen is opaline dominant pied.

The cock looks like recessive pied but he has very clear flight & tail feathers which suggest he could be a combination.

3 of the chicks clearly show characteristics of dominant pied (2 of them with greywing). Although they have more clear areas than most dominant pieds, there are no definite recessive pied characteristics showing. They could be combinations but photos when they are fully feathered are needed

In a few weeks once they are fully feathered i will provide new pictures so that their mutations can be determined

sadly today the dad flew out its cage onto the wild, he flew by 3 times and i has hopping he would get down so i could have cached him and re-united him with his lovely family, hopefully does try to come back even thou the chances are 1 to none :(

I'm so sorry to hear that! :(

I guess there is a chance that he will come back to try to feed his chicks, if he doesn't get lost.

Have you put up flyers in the area, in case anybody finds him?

You should also call all the vets nearby, and let them know to be on the lookout, in case someone comes in with a found bird, that could be yours.

At the ages of your chicks, I think the mother should be okay to finish raising them alone. Do you have seed and millet in the nest box, so they can practice eating before they fledge?

Aw I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your budgie-hopefully he will find his way back. Your babies are beautiful! X

They are really gorgeous!! :D

I'm no expert, and I'm sure I will be told I'm wrong, (I don't mind), but I feel like I'm seeing recessive pied on this one:

On the right wing. Other wing looks like DF dom pied, so could it be a combo?
