As some of you know my budgie, Fly has scaly face mites. The medicine i am giving her says to give it to her for 3-4 days. Yesterday was the 4th day and it is still not fully healed should I give her the medicine any way? or will it heal if i don't?

Georgie,

what medicine are you using?

Use 1 drop of ivermectin. That is all u need.

I couldn't find the ivermectin at the vets so I got this stuff called scaly face and leg mites.

Georgie,

I'd look around for ivermectin. As Dave said, one drop on the back of the neck and that is it... dose and forget. No repeat doses and worrying it wont go away... Anything else is a waste of time and money in my book. Are there any other members near you that you can get some off, or is there a bird club near you... they often sell it. It's also recommended to treat all your budgies, even if they don't show signs.

P.S. You can re-dose ivermectin if needed, but I never have... (unless a new outbreak at a later date)

Yea, I was thinking of looking for it again.

hopefully I can find it some where so I'll just ring all the vets around central coast for my mission to get ivermectin (I hate talking on the phone lol)
