Posted March 24, 201114 yr Hi Just after some advice. I have a hexagonal aviary with 4 males and 4 females. Lately I have noticed single eggs dropped on the bottom of the aviary - cracked with a yolk. The birds have paired off with 3X pairs having lots of sex and exchanging 'saliva'. I thought of putting in nest boxes, but after researching the perils of colony breeding have decided not to. My other option from my understanding is to remove the pairs into separate cages with nest boxes. Problem is we are in the middle of renovations, I don't think I can devote enough time at this stage to monitoring breeding. Is it okay to just leave the birds do their own thing, will it affect any future breeding I may want to do? Hope someone can help, thanks.
