BEWARE! Budgies on keypads!

Last night as i was tying a message to someone, Teapot was being his normal awkward little self and getting under my fingers as I typed. Next thing, he was screaming  His toe had got tightly wedged between the keys. I finally managed to free him, but he has a very sore bruised toe. I really thought it was broken, and the sick feeling of guilt is still haunting me today. Thankfully, his toe IS just very bruised the vet thinks, and it will be okay in a few days.

So please, think twice before letting yuor budgie hop around on your keypad. A budgie screaming in fright and pain..., well, its just something you do NOT want to witness. :D

Blinkie had that happen once and i figuired it was because he got on a key i was pressing and when the key sprung back his toe got stuck. I let him hang out on the keyboard still but i push him away if he gets under my fingers. You're right, a screaming and afraid budgie is not a nice sight.

I would never have thought of a keyboard being dangerous! Thanks for the info Chirpy and I hope Teapot feels better soon :doctor:

He's acting totally normal now thanks :) he is limping a bit when walking sometimes, but otherwise is back to happy, cheeky, RUDE teapot :)

Anne

Well he can't be feeling to bad then. :) If he's back to his naughty little feathery self! :(Laughing out loud):

aww no need to feel guilty chirpy! you couldnt have known

gladhes feeling better

Poor thing! I always worry about that happening with my birds, especially Piper since she loves to hang out on my desk. Usually if she's on the keyboard, it's off limits to me and I can't type anyway. :) Sometimes she'll get on my hand while I type and then get peeved that I keep typing...and bite me.

It's adorable though. :)

more dangers are happening everyday, poor little Teapot, I'm glad hes back to himself... well except the rude part. :)

The dangerslurk everywhere, its frightening how things can go badly wrong.

teapot isnt limping at all now :) and his saying of the day is ''kiss me budgie bumbum'' I think its directed at me for hurting him.

Good to hear there's no permanent damage done.Birdy once got his wing stuck through the cage bars would you believe-he was screaming like fury-sounds awful. He didn't do any damage though was just more frightened I think.

Julie

omg they can even do themselves harm in their own little cage. Glad to hear that Birdy was okay. :)

That sounds awful! thanks for the warning :( and recover soon teapot!

the same thing happend to skittle last week although not as bad, he sulked like a little baby on my shoulder (Laughing out loud) for a minute not putting any weight on it so i got a little worried, then he flew off and was running around as normal, i think he was feeling sorry for himself, but he still insists on sitting on my laptop protecting the keys (Laughing out loud).

ATD

(Laughing out loud), Blinkie was the same when he got his toe caught in the keyboard. He sulked for a moment and then was back to normal. I think they just thought they could get some attention by sulking! :(
