April 20, 201114 yr A long weekend, kochy, hope the weather holds too. With a bit of luck you might get it finished.
April 20, 201114 yr Nice work Kochy, it's looking great. How many birds do you think you will be able to fit in that set-up?
April 20, 201114 yr Author yeah and im planning to have at least one sleep in too! hard to say taboo at this stage ive culled pretty hard so im sitting at about 8 birds right now that i think are worthy, but i feel 30 comfortably. when i get to that stage (which will probably come around all too fast) i will probably either extend again or go with a indoor flight set up,
April 21, 201114 yr Author well its all go for tomorrow, got all the timber roof iron and supplies i need for flight roof up and early for me! hopefully ill have some photos by the end of the day for everyone
April 22, 201114 yr Author update time. roof is all framed up and ready for the iron to be put on, i would of liked to have got the roof on and done but sadly i ran out of time so that will just have to wait untill tomorrow but thats okay, tell me what you guys think? a picture with just the framing done and with all the nogging and netting on and a view from the front. ill have more progress to report tomorrow with a bit of luck. then the next time will be to paint it! exciting stuff.
April 23, 201114 yr Author okay so i managed to get the majority of the iron on the roof but then it started to rain so i called it a day, probably would of had it done had i not gone to the easter weekend sales with my wife but its all good ill have another crack tomorrow, hopefully monday will bring good weather so i can have a crack at painting it. todays progress Edited April 23, 201114 yr by **KAZ** fixed emoticon
July 24, 201113 yr Author its been awhile since ive been on here and updated my progress, almost had aviary 100% finished but have decided to add on again to it with the addition of a indoor flight which i hope to start as soon as the weather improves i begin breeding within the next few weeks too so im in the process of upgrading my breeding cages to better ones and relocating the nesting boxes to the front of the cages (instead of the side) i will post some pics up asap

March 18, 201213 yr Author Nice steps..can't wait to see the rest of the birdroom...keep up the good work... \ Â thanks twisted, im not happy with the birdroom at this stage im planning to extend by at least another 1.5metres so i can fit more cages and shelves and include another window, i also want to line it and cover the floor by that stage i guess i wont be happy with the flight either haha ill keep this thread updated with more pics as i go.
March 20, 201213 yr Looking good Kochy, at least you look like you have masses of room to expand. I don't think an Aviary is ever "finished". They seem to keep evolving. l.o.l
May 5, 201213 yr Hi there this is my first reply in the forum, but I would like to say that i like the changes you have made to your birdroom the hole that the little critter used to enter the bird room was maybe created by them, the changes you have made should stop this happening again, the second thing is the way you have lined your avairy half way up to stop them climbing the wire great idea but it also serves another purpose and that is it stops any hask, seed or any other googies you feed the birds in the flight blowing through the wire and onto your lawn which would incourage mice to that area because it creates a good food supply for them. As all breeders know hygiene in the birdroom is very important for you and your birds but it is also important to carry this to the outside of the bird room as well. The changes you have made are excellent and you may have reduced or even eliminated the chance of the same thing happening again. fantastic and a good read also good photos. All the best.
