The things Mineral Cuttle bones do to white birdies LOL

 

for a while we were buying the Cuttle bones with the Mineral blocks on the outside of them Happened our stores only had 2 colors to choose from Pink and Yellow

 

well Casper here decided it made an excellent body scratcher or perhaps she was trying to use it as a bathtub Not really sure which LOL

 

but I had a couple local College Girls stop in to buy one of my Tiels One day and there Casper Sat Pretty in Pink, the one girl went crazy and said " OMG there's a pink parakeet!!! I WANT IT how much are you selling it for? "

well I just had to be a bit mean - and say " really there is a pink parakeet in here no way where?" She said RIGHT THERE and pointed to Casper Then said Tell you what I'll give you $2,000.00 Dollars for it (our Local College is nothing but Rich spoiled kids who snap their fingers and their mommies and daddies drop cash in their hands or write them out a check on the spot! (rest of the town sucks this town is all about its Precious college - really irritates me)

 

I told her Oh no ,She's not for sale, See Pink Parakeets are extremely rare If I sell her how am I going to see if I can produce more??

 

Then my kids ratted me out I wanted to see how long I could get her to believe the bird was actually pink!

 

and no more than Casper Molted the pink mineral block out she did it with a yellow one I guess she wanted to see what it was like to be a Creamino LMAO - I had pics of that too but it didn't show up as well as the pink ones did

 

 

I posted this on another form right after Casper turned pink and Had some one on there ( I think it was a kid ) get all mean and nasty towards me - Guess they didn't read the entire thread said I was CRUEL and that was not a good joke and Paint is harmful to budgies -blah blah blah - Don't think she read the part that said it was a MINERAL BLOCK LOL

I think I'll leave the beetroot at the store though That sounds like that may give me a heart attack LOL (I'd forget I gave it to them and think they're bleeding to death Not good for a Heart that doesn't work right as it is LOL)

I give my birds beetroot quite often but last when the birds where in the breeding cage I had forgot that they had beetroot in their veges and when checking them, I thought you rotten so an so , the hen was covered in blood, so here I am looking for a scalped chick, then I remembered BEETROOT.

doesn't help much my memory is failing and failing fast (i have health issues I'm learning how the older people live way before I should be) I would so forgot I gave it to them and have a break down when it was all done and over with lol

okay, that is really funny as! I have met teenagers like that (I am 18 and sometimes get tarred with the same brush because I have friends like that.) I love that she actually believed that you could have a pink budgie, though I must say, I would love to have one. LOL

 

I hope dads precious white budgie doesn't do this if we get coloured mineral blocks!

I have had many pics up here with beetrooted budgies and I remember the first time and the shock - they love it though so they get it once a month

Hmmm... Might go raid the beetroot and give it to our budgies. xD Does it have to be drained or fresh or can it be out of a can?

The one in cans has a lot of sugar added to act as a preservative. Your birds are much better off with fresh beetroot. I use metal BBQ skewers. I cut off the leaves and stalks and put them in a seperate dish. I then take the beetroot ball, cutting off any roots. I cut the bettroot in half and stad it through with a metal skewer. I usually get three halves to a skewer. I then hook the open eyelet to the wire and hang the beetrooted skewer over a nearby perch. The birds love it.

also i noticed she was a dom pied first picture you posted maybe id say masking sky blue also

i do breed albbys so get use to looking close at them

shes got the suffusion lime green so why i say sky blue

cinnamon sky blues go pink/ suffusion violet goes pink /brown suffushion

cobalt normally masks well as does grey

so .... she has a nice pied band too

That was Kiwi. She was one of my favourites. She broke her leg in early 2009 and when I went to Perth, she stayed at my mother's place as she was nursed back to health. She had 4 great daughters with Twitch, the green guy in the photo. He has to be split blue and I will find out this year.

I am not sure if she was split blue as I lost her. She must have flown into the wire and broke her neck as she was healthy with no signs of illness on her death. I do miss her, she was a favourite.

Yep she's albino - blue- opaline -dominant pied(if the albino part didn't mask everything else of course lol) then she's either Masking or Split to (haven't figured out yet how to tell if its masked or split) Grey wing and Recessive pied - I don't know her parents as she was a Pet store bird But I've had her with a Lutino male and Gotten Lutino and Albino babies(so that told me he was split to blue - also was a pet store bird) Then I had her with a Blue Dominant pied male and got Double Factor dominant pied so that told me he's hiding Dominant pied , Put her with a Grey Spangle Split to Opaline male and got a Male Opaline - that told me she's hiding Opaline her baby from the Dominant Pied blue male Was paired to a Grey wing and I got Grey wing babies - So i knew both her parents were carrying grey wing The dad I know is split he's not visual But her being an Albino I can't figure out if its split or masking... then another Daughter From that same paring was put with a recessive pied and i got recessive pied dominant pied babies -again dad is just dominant pied visually so hes split for it - but not sure if shes split for it or Masking it

I may try that if she'll leave her normal mates side that is - she has the hots bad for Tweety lol which he is split for Grey wing and Recessive pied

 

I could put her with Bubble gum and see what I get from them he's Greywing yellow face type 2 sky blue and so far doesn't seem to be split to anything unless i just haven't given him the right woman to bring it out lol
