Posted March 8, 201114 yr Well I'm a "single" mom of 2 Kids They're 10 and 13 I'm originally from Ohio (U.S.A.) Moved to Indiana in 2005 I have a AKC Registered Chocolate Beagle Named Sheba she'll be 3 This July, She's now 3 legged but don't tell her she doesn't notice any more - she was Hit by a car Oct. 09 she's a bit spoiled Okay overly spoiled If you call her a dog - you've insulted her She will give you the cold shoulder and do the Drama queen Eye roll! She rules the roost we're not allowed to have any other dog but her! She really hates other dogs no matter if they're on her property or not she's tried to take on pit bulls(she scared the pee right out of the poor things) she's tried taking on a Great Dane and his brother a big old lab - and her own reflection but she's scared to death of the birds LOL I'm owned by a lot of birds I've lost count I'm a hobby Breeder, But We do have 2 pet Quaker Parrots I'm still waiting for them to live together(they don't have to breed just living in the same cage would be nice Then I can have some of my already small living room back and won't have to have 2 cages lol) One is named Billy if you ask him he's 6 foot tall and bullet proof He will take on the world and he is the SOLE reason Sheba is scared of the birds he flew down and bit her on the butt when I brought her home at 2 months old Poor girl didn't even see it coming (or did we) He's a "re home" before me he was owned by the same woman for the first 13 years of his life, her situation changed and she couldn't take Billy with her So I adopted him 2 weeks later he took to my b/f Who didn't give him the time of day, and has hated me since he has actually hunted me down like a hunting dog to attack me, he's climbed up my covers while i was asleep in bed to attack me! Second pet Quaker is Gumby (named after my mom's nickname ) she was actually Dumped in our laps, My boyfriend had went to pick up 2 cockatoos that was given to his rescue (I foster the birds for him because his mom can not be around birds she got a very bad disease from her husbands pigeons after cleaning their coop a few times while he worked double/triple shifts at work I forget what its called off the top of my head but its almost killed her and She can no longer be around birds) well after dealing with Billy i was really done with Quakers I ignored Gumby My b/f did everything for her She chose me then there is our Breeding Pair Duke and Duchess my b/f once he got in to birds(That is one thing I do Thank Billy for lol) he wanted Blue Quakers so he got them (he doesn't tell me no, and I don't tell him no, well okay Let me re state that I now tell him NO MORE QUAKERS 4 is enough LOL) I am down to just 1 Pair of Peach Face love birds, I have 9 Cockatiels, over 20 Budgies Both American and English, 1 African grey Named Sidney, 2 Pairs of Ringnecks 1 Albino female Named A.C., One Lutino Male Named Sunny, 1 Blue Male named Wyatt and 1 Blue Lacewing Female Named Josie Wyatt and Josie are a pair (bought them as a pair) and we're working on A.C. and Sunny becoming a Pair my son has Several Ringneck doves He breeds and shows in competitions I've researched birds for over 20 years and never stop - really you can't the times change all the time as does how to properly care for our animals I've wanted a bird (African Grey to be exact) since I was a child My mom always told me "no , they're too messy" (some times i think i should of listened lol) me and my kids moved here, well came here for a 2 week vacation to visit my family and we just never left I needed a new start on life after a few bad things in life so i picked that time to "start over" . When i got my own place My b/f said I could get a bird - He no doubt now wishes he'd learn to tell me no lol.. I wanted A BIRD just ONE I still have my 1 Bird I bought for my self the week of mothers day from my kids - they found out when they got home from school they bought me my very 1st Budgie I named him Tweety. and now I have Way more than 1 bird lol Last count (including my sons Doves) was around 50 ish But I don't count the babies Only the birds who stay here I don't think I forgot any one And I will eventually get pics of them all posted when I get some time, but right now my bed is calling my name oh and I put Single in quotes because I've never been married but I do have a boyfriend of 5 1/2 years - He may irritate me and get on my nerves, but If I want something or need something or my kids want/need something he's the 1st to hand it to us or the money to go get it. with out hesitation or questions

March 9, 201114 yr Quick Question how many pics am I allowed to post in one thread? i was just about to Introduce my budgie flock and I hit the Preview and at the top it told me I had too many pics and i wasn't even half way done LOL Oh and another question - Is there an area for other birds/pets? so I can introduce them as well or just do it all in one thread?

I think our limit is ten images. Then wait for someone to post or ask a member to post and then you can do an add reply to add more Any other pets we put in OFF TOPIC Edited March 9, 201114 yr by **KAZ**
March 9, 201114 yr Thank you I may just move some pics around on one of my Photo bucket accounts and Add a Link to it - that would probably be easier since I have roughly 26 budgies, not counting all the other birdies lol
March 9, 201114 yr Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy your stay. Sorry, but I couldn't read the whole lot right through. I really hate it when people don't break up their writings into paragraphs. No offense, it's just one of those things that bug me. Quakers, I love them but can't have them in Western Australia.

March 9, 201114 yr :D Yay! Hi K! Glad you're here. I never thought we would get anyone else from my neck of the woods on here! Now if only we could find that gal I met in the pet store. The one who I gave my card to, and told her about this forum, and then a little bit later she was quoting Kaz, and I said "Hey, that's the same forum I was telling you about!"
