He already has some millet spray in his cage and he absoluetly loves it! If you try and take it out to move it he'll sit on it and chirp. xD

grapes are fine, mine love nibbling on them on hot days, you can poke them through the bars of the cage or split them in two and put in a dish

Mine like grapes too, seedless ones. They love grated carrot and grated beetroot too. I actually gave them some strawberries last week and the devoured them in secs.

Mid week, every week mine get a plateful of sliced apples ,oranges & grapes.

My budgies aren't fans of Fruit

but I have conures, Quakers, and ringneck parakeets and they LOVE grapes including the ones with seeds- Grapes with seeds are Good for birds the seeds in them aren't toxic like most fruit

Its actually a Home Remedy for birds

Grape Seeds / Grape Seed Extract: One of the most potent antioxidants known, with tests indicating that it is fifty times more powerful than Vitamin E. In humans, it has been used to treat varicose veins, eye problems, arthritis, allergies, heart conditions, Attention Deficit Disorder and viral diseases such as herpes. It has also shown effectiveness in treating feather plucking. I found a drop of Grape Seed Extract added to the formula of my chicks to be effective in preventing, and even resolving, sour crop in babies.

Mine arent either. Give each aviary 6 large carrots in the evening and by morning there is nothing left and all budgies have orange faces :D Mine will eat lemons, oranges and grapefruit though. Sometimes apple but other fruit rarely. While everyone says their budgies eat broccoli mine wont either. Mine love corn on the cob though and greens like bok choy and pak choy over silver beet anyday of the week

none of my birds like carrots they'll eat the tops of whole carrots but won't eat the actual carrot they either throw it out of the cage completely or leave it in the bowl and eat around it So I hide it in their birdie bread and the devour that I swear some lick the bowls clean :D all my birds except my sons Ringneck doves LOVE greens Specially Kale or any big leafy green my budgies eat it while taking a bath on it lol my fruit eaters are my Quakers, Indian Ringnecks and Green Cheek Conues they'll pretty much eat any fruit given and all my birds LOVE corn either kernels ( i buy the frozen kind for us to eat so they get whats left over) or on the cob but hate the ones that come in their seed mix we haven't tried bok choy or anything like that before May have to get some on my next trip to the grocery store

Mine goes mad for carrot. So much so I have to ration it sometimes because his face - and poops - turn bright orange.

Fruit isn't much to his liking. But he does like apple, and sipping on orange juice. Sometimes he likes a strawberry, especially the outside bits. Makes a big mess of himself with it though, covered in bright red splatter spray or else just a completely red face if he's done a face dump.

For a real treat, find some seeding grasses (collected away from polluted roads and doggy doo, and washed). I keep a small bunch in a cup of water in the fridge for those times when he simply won't get back in his cage when I really need to leave the house pronto. Sucks him in every time.

Dont forget to serve beetroot to your birds. Its very good for them ( vets advise giving red vegies like beetroot and radish to birds ) ........serve raw, grated, sliced or whole.

Radish and beetroot! I'll give it a whirl. Can you serve the canned stuff, too?

I tried feeding tomato, as I wanted him to eat something red, but he doesn't like it.

Dont serve canned...it has sugar, vinegar and additives.

Remember in all things RAW is best.

Try endive also as a green they will eat.

Thanks I'll have to get some next time I'm at the store :)

As Kaz said never feed canned veggies/fruits etc (well i did read that Canned Pumpkin is Higher in Vitamin A than Fresh but i still give mine Fresh instead)

but if you can't get Fresh veggies like corn, peas etc. The next best is Frozen, that is what I use.. I no longer buy cans of corn to feed us humans we all eat Frozen veggies and thats what the birds get as well

the only thing I still have to buy in a can is Green Beans and Peas as my kids don't like the frozen version they said its like eating Rubber and If i want them to eat their Veggie soup it has to be out of a can or Fresh veggies no more Frozen mixed veggies for my kids the birds don't mind it though Just my kids dislike it lol and my kids love their veggies so I still buy green beans and peas in a can for them just not the birds
