I have two nest with chicks now.

My problem is, that parrents from 1 nest are greywings (for me), but my friend say, that hen is cinnamon  . I didn't care much, but in the nest appeared cinnamon chick! That means that cock is split, but now i don't now - is chick cinnamon or greywing cinnamon??

I'll give a lot od pictures XD

mystery chick is cinnamon. Look back to any photos from when the chick hatched and look to see if the chick hatched with evidence of plum eyes.

So it is not cinnamon + greywing? --> so hen is cinnamon, not greywing?

okay, last questions

1. second misterious chich is cinnamon or greywing?

2. So hen is cinnamon split to greywing? Shouldn't cinnamon lighten the body color (she is quite dark for me..)

Hens cannot be split for cinnamon. Cocks can be not hens.

Second mystery chick seems to be cinnamon greywing

Hen looks cinnamon in this photo image0037.jpg

Yes, that's why I asked: Is hen cinnamon, split to greywing (not split to cinnamon)

That means, that cinnamon greywings have darker markings than cinnamons?

I thought I know my budgies... mutations are too complicaded

I think your hen is cinnamon split to greywing.

In my very limited experience so far, when you have cinnamon and greywing in the same bird, you can't see the cinnamon. Just the greywing, and then it looks like dilute. I think both of your mystery chicks are cinnamon. (Keep in mind, my opinions are to be taken with a grain of salt, I'm still too new to all this, and I've only bred one greywing cinnamon chick so far. :P )

I agree with Kaz about the plum eyes. Do you have any newborn photos of them?

No, they wouln't have darker markings.

unfortunately, I took only one picture

I was trying to see this plum eyes in second nest (I've expected some cinnamons there) but I think I'm blind - I didn't see anything unusual...

The chick with its head up the top resting on the egg, has a plum eye on my screen - Cinnamon baby :)

EDIT: Also forgot to mention - I have noticed with all my Cinnamon budgies that they have pink legs instead of blueish/grey. Check your chicks - that may be an easy indicator too

I've read this article some time ago, but as I've said - in reality I didn't see any difference :( On photo I think can see it :)

I'll check the legs :)
