Posted January 26, 201114 yr I've just come across an image of a budgie that I think is really nice but I don't know what mutation or maybe combinations of mutations it is. This is not my budgie and I don't own the image so I'll just link it. Hope someone can help I think it's number 14 in the gallery. http://www.petpages.com.au/company/goldcoastaviaries/182
January 26, 201114 yr The Bird is a spangle which is dominant in their breeding pattern. To breed them all you need is one parent that is spangle and you should get 50% normal 50% Spangle from a Spangle to normal pairing. If you pair 2 spangles together you can then produce what is call a DF Spangle which is a all yellow or white bird depending on whether the bird is Green or blue series. This bird also looks to be a dark factor bird i believe Dark Green violet but could be incorrect. If you search this site im sure you could find plenty of info on Spangles I've just come across an image of a budgie that I think is really nice but I don't know what mutation or maybe combinations of mutations it is. January 27, 201114 yr Author Thanks for your help I like Df spangles also, is it possible to breed a Df spangle with the normal blue cheek patches and spots on the mask?

January 27, 201114 yr Author That's too bad I thought I'd seen one before in a book but maybe it was just a predominantly yellow bird of another mutation. I just went and looked in the book and I think the bird is actually a male grey green clearwing where the distinction between it's mask and body is subtle. Also being a clearwing it has no spots on the mask as I'd thought, just the cheek patches. Edited January 27, 201114 yr by Joachim
