Hello I had posted here a while ago when I'd gotten my second budgie and quickly learned that i should have kept him separate from my other bird that i'd had for a year.

 

i did this and they were away from each other and in separate rooms for about a month, (i was told quarantine period was about 30 - 60 days)

 

i only put them together yesterday so could it just be because they are in with another bird that they are acting this way?

 

Both of my birds were comfortable with me and would perch on my finger and let my rub their front, but i put them both together and suddenly they bite me and are very skitish, should i maybe keep them in separate cages but in the same room right next to each other until they get used to me again?...i just don't know what i should do now.

They are both adjusting and it is normal to be very aggressive (self protection) when suddenly in a new social situation and/or cage.

 

I dont have any experience introducing foreign budgies as I breed budgies I intend to tame rather than buying them, and they are together from a very young age and get used to each other and me. Maybe someone else has experience or advice.

okay so same thing happened with my first two budgies i had , i purchased them on the same day and had them in different cages they were both in the study and they chirped happily with each other i kept them separate for fifty days then put them together i did not tame them but they never bit me after they stayed with each other for half and hour i removed charlie and he started biting me he had never bit me before so i put him back in his cage and put him in a different room to my other budgie. charlie calmed down in a few days time and was happy again i never put them back together because i thought it was too much of a risk but that is your choice dont let me stop you from putting them back together again
