hi i got a new budgie two weeks ago and its female i named it pebbles i have being putting millet spray on my hand but pebbles will not come to my hand i have been keeping my hand in the cage for 20 minutes for the last 7 days or so and she will not come to it does it normally take this long this is my 4th budgie and its the first time i have decided to tame one and train it .

 

i let pebbles out the cage daily and she does not bite me at all.

 

please help! help will be greatly appreciated

Every bird takes a different amount of time to warm up. You can put the millet very close to your hand so she has to come closer and closer and then move it slowly if she puts one foot up then training session has been successful and continue to do that until both feet come up.
