Posted January 8, 201114 yr should i make hole in the wooden nest box because the best time to breed budgies in our country is summer
January 9, 201114 yr i meant air holes Unless you are breeding in the stinking hot summer... air holes are not needed. They'll get enough air through the entrance hole.

January 9, 201114 yr If its really really hot its best not to breed then. Unless you have a cool place where your birds breed. Some of us have airconditioned breeding rooms. Hot nestboxes and hot baby budgies can get all kinds of health issues, one being french moult. But if its isnt too hot then you can drill 10mm holes up higher on a nestbox or use a spare piece of aviary mesh as the door during the day and replace the normal door for the nighttime.
