January 11, 201114 yr Author Hi, 2 months I think. I have some great new photos and videos. What type? I did not know there were types. I thought there were just blue ones, green ones and yellow ones and then mixed ones like frodo. I have had a pet budgie for years and this is the new one since the last one left me 2 months ago. He hated me at first but is settling in slowly. Very spoilt. Are the colours rare? Thanks. What type of budgie is Frodo? Â By the way, he is gorgeous. How old is he?

We have gone to a lot of trouble and effort to make this an educational forum and have more good info than many other places
January 12, 201114 yr Marcusg6- Great to see that you have identified the colour of your budgie. He is extrmemely cute! All up I would say the rarest colour/mutation out of the 3 would be the YFT2 (Yellow Faced Type II), and even that is not extremely rare. To me I would say he is a rainbow. A rainbow is a mish-mash of colours and striping mutations. It does not mean that they are red, orange, yellow, blue and green! Edited January 18, 201114 yr by **KAZ**

January 18, 201114 yr Author Appreciate the comments. Frodo still hates me and humans. Has settled into cage okay, just hates me. Won't show any signs of happiness or playing with any toys. Just eats, sits and stares. Not even making noise. I carefully take her out of the cage but clearly does not want a bar of it. Won't even eat millet, only Trill. I talk to her all day, nothing changes. Maybe I'm just too impatient.
January 18, 201114 yr Seems like you are doing all you can. Some budgies take longer and are harder to tame. It also depends on how old they actually are when purchased as often budgies sold as babies arent and are well on their way to being independant and set in their ways.
January 19, 201114 yr My new budgie pebbles does not chirp at me yet but is fine for me to take her out of her cage. my advice is just let frodo settle in a bit longer and he might adjust
