So, I have had Jasper for a year and few weeks now. He is very mischief. Just recently he has started a new little habit. He escapes from his cage arrrgh

I do not know how he does it but I've been trying to catch him in the act with no luck so far.

 

It started in the morning when l was sleeping. My niece banged on my door to tell me he was out in the kitchen, Where my cat was chasing him but luckily he was okay. I manged to get Jasper back into his cage. l made sure the door was locked and there was no way that he could get out but somehow he manged to escape into the kitchen 2 more times. At this point l was mad at myself for not finding the reason he escaped.

 

I put him in a different cage tonight until l find out why he is escaping out of his old cage.

Oh what are budgies like eh? they are sneaky buggers .

 

Have you tested the doors where you pop food and water in? if they are too easy to open you can guarantee they will.

 

Also, don't take this the wrong way please, but was your neice around each time he escaped? she wouldn't be playing a little trick on you would she?

 

Hope you figure out what your budgie is up to soon...sounds like you need 'budgiecam'.

Cheeky bugger! lol... Just brain storming here... does he have little doors for his food and water, can they be pushed open... can he lift/push open his normal door... is the cage sitting on some type of base and can he lift it up and sneak under?

 

Maybe try tying all the access doors shut and see if this helps... it might narrow things down for you. Good luck and let us know how you go.xoxo

No I'm not offended by what you said, My Jasper's cage is in my room. So my niece couldn't have open his door. He got out and walked under my door.

I believe now that he got through where his food is. He kicks out the food dish. So now l put a piece of tape on the other side and it seems to be working for now
