What Genetics Is This Baby Please?

Featured Replies

This is the sixth baby, his/her siblings were a yellow/greenie dilute (another question later), cobalt spangle, albino, bluish dilute, lutino then this one.

These are his/her parents (unsure totally what they are) Cinnamon and Marvin (Dad is like a light mauve colour not cobalt or sky as in the photo)

What is the spot on the back of the head signify please? Many thanks for your answers.

The chick is a dark green spangle. Many spangles have a spot on the back of their heads so it may not have any significance. If a normal had a spot like this it would probably mean it was split for recessive pied

Cinnamon is a cinnamon (dark?) green. Can't see Marvin's wings but if he is this chicks father he must be a spangle

if your colany breeding your birds as the other post sugests then this chick could be anybodys the budgies will not just stick to the one patner in a colany situation

you may get a odd one here n their

but i do agree that the cock above is a spangle id say cinnamon most probably in the violet grouping , violet sky or cobalt violet

sorry i was talking about the father

nev already awnsered your other question its a dark green spangle with brilliant markings
