Hi all,

 

I bought this 'girl' (unsure about sex) a month ago and I was told she/he was 8 weeks old. From internet pictures, I would say yellow faced violet budgie. What do you guys think?

Also, regarding 'show birds', what should I particularly look out for in the type of bird I have?

Looks like it although I wouldn't like to guess at what type of yellow face and it might just be a cobalt rather than violet but photos never show violet properly so I won't say that it's not.

 

And I think it's a boy but the photos really are not good enough to tell properly.

Looks like a Yellow Face Type 1 Cobalt as suggested above possible boy.

Why is only one wing clipped? This is one of the worst clipping methods as it imbalances the weight, posture and / or muscles of the bird.

 

Hate to be a picky picker, but please balance out the wing clipping.

I have never clipped my bird's wings and this is the first time so I'm not sure what is correct or not. This was performed by the man whom I bought the budgie from so I thought it was correct.

I shall trim the other wing today.

 

Elly, if you look at my other thread, people are saying she is a girl. I'm confused now.
