i relise that the flash isnt helping the situation much but i cant figure out how to take it off:huh:

I can tell you they arent opaline :D

At this early stage look at the pin feathers that develop just above the fleshy tail bump, they are the first to show colour. As for mutation, depends on the parents. Cinnamons have pink eyes for the first week or so before darkening back to near normal colour. Opalines get white down feathers which you dont see on the oldest chicks here. Spangles have white (or yellow) primary tail feathers, easily seen as the pin feathers develop. Pieds also have white/yellow tail pins but also have a pink/bald patch on the head and the wings depending on the type of pied. (Bald as in no pigment, but feathers do develop obviously :P). Greens very early on have yellow showing in the wings, yours appear blue :)

theirs also a green based one their dean the little one under the blue one well not blue but blue based could be grey depending on mum n dad as you said

I don't know their colour, but I think you should give their box a clean :D

thats just rued squeek

his or her box is not actually unhealthy at all

if i remember i remember a thread you did where i though that your whole aviary needed a good scrub down

i think you should look in your own yard before telling someone else their place it dirty

when quiet frankly i do not think its worthy of such an insult

maybe just a blow to clear the concave but thats all

If you cant turn it off, place a piece of tape over the flash unit :D

Good eyes GB. I had to tilt my screen before I could see the yellow wash on the pin feathers. The flash makes it glare and hard to see but you are spot on!

i didnt realise you could tell that young thanks kaz

Kaz is so good she can sense the gender of her own birds whilst they are still int he egg, but for us mere mortals we have to guess looking at ceres, and Kaz is still better at that then us - ;)

You are SO FUNNY :D

ill try to get some updated pics of the chicks i posted earlier in the thread some have come out quite nice:D

It looks albino to me, maybe df spangle. What colour are the eyes and is it all white? Cute chick :D

yeah ithought albino too, eyes look kind of red although ive only looked when there was poor lighting in the breeding room, looks all white to me too as far as i can see, ill have to post more pics as the chick gorws. its from violet parents if that helps in any way?

Im thinking that if the cock was split ino this is a possibility.

Would like to see the eyes better but they kinda look black (or at least not the ino red) from that picture.
