hi , in another topic i spoke of the male bird being in the nest box most of the time. he seemed healthy enough though a little disinterested.i hindsight i should have taken him to the vet. my question is can jock the mother cope with 3 chicks on her own. i dont know but there are another 2 pairs breeding and maybe the males will help.

The mother should cope if she only has three chicks.

If the other breading pairs have chicks of roughly the same age you can try fostering out.

Here's some info on Feeding and Weaning Chicks. Master Breeder.

the hen should have no problem i had a hen who fed 5 chicks on her own you can put some millet in her nest box as well to help
