Posted October 16, 201014 yr Hey all! I'm back with my budgies after a long hiatus. College got very busy and I needed to take a break from the internet. But I'm in my last two weeks now, with all of my assignments being handed in this week or the next, so my brain has turned back to budgies I am now a full member of the Central Coast Budgerigar Society and one of the other members there was very kind to give me some of their cull birds so that I can start breeding. This has rasied the number of my flock from 2 to 7 Here are some pictures: This is Bula's new girlfriend, a olive green recessive pied. The size difference between them was funny when i put Bula in there with her that I name her Raspuschia (from the movie 'Norbert') She has a strange problem of not having any feathers under her wing or around her neck. But none of her siblings have this problem, so its not hereditary. Her breeders have no idea why she's like this, but no one wanted her because of it. So I gave her a home These two don't have names yet. We got the Opaline cobalt cock on the right, and a Sky blue recessive hen on the left. The hens parents were both recessive greens, and the cocks parents a cobalt pied and yellow face opaline cobalt, so the outcome for this pair should be interesting This boy is my favourite. He's a beautiful yellow face pied cock. His brothers are apparently champion birds. His name is vomity pie. The reason for this being that when I brought him home and said he was a dominant pied to my family, my little brother thought i had said vomity pie. So that stuck as his name This is vomity pie's girlfriend, a normal sky hen. I paired her with pie because her parents were an cobalt opaline and normal cobalt, so I should get some lovely babies out of them. She's only five months old however, so a nest box will not be attached to their cage for a while Her name is Doormat, because when I first put Pie in with her (while I was picking birds) he got all excited and sat on her face, and she just took it lol I'm planning on pairing pie's and the opaline cobalt cocks babies to each other in the future and hopefully get some more yellow faces. I gotta say, I'm in love with pie and I really want to get more babies like him. If anyone has some tips on how I can do this, please let me know And thats my flock as it is right now. October 17, 201014 yr Hi welcome back, your birds look good. I think you should ask the breeder if he has a mate for vomity pie, as the hen you have is [a] too young not as good a quality as he is. Just a suggestion, I wish you luck. Cheers Clearwing

Well I figured it out and Vinaka is the same age as Doormat. So hopefully, I'll get me some babies from the opaline/Rec pair and one of them can be her buddy Until then though, I'll be her flock.
