Posted September 10, 201014 yr The floods have hit here, by tonight we won't be able to get to Shepparton, Kyabram or Numurkah, there is nearly no way out. What's worse I still don't have my car because now the hold up is they are installing a new dash because I cooked so good that I stuffed up tempture gage well all the gages in the dash. I am annoyed because I won't to see the floods, this will be the first time i have missed out, Greg said that I don't want to it is scary BUT I said yes I dooo. Just out of town the Shepp turn off is almost under water from each side of the road for miles, the poor cows Gregs said standing on little pockets of land that is a little higher. The way I go to mums which is Numurkah is under. We have 3 creeks running into ours so we have heaps more water coming yet Our house won't flood because of the levy banks they built but around the corner on lower land their houses are going under. My son lives in Cobram and thye just built a new home and got the keys for it yesterday but luke is worried sick because his house is right next to the murry river ( river view they say.. but there is a huge levy bank there, well the levy bank is 5ft and they are expecting 6ft so he is scared as there is NO insurence for floods or flash floods. I am not sure if the danger has gone for him yet. BUt I am being selfish I need to go to Shepparton. WE were going tonight in Gregs car and I was so excited over it because being stuck here with no car BUT now we have to stay home
September 10, 201014 yr Author Me too, as they do not really have a lot of money. 5 years ago he had his eye stabbed out in a pub, he went to stick up for a women who was being harrassed by some bloke and the bloke turned around and stuck a beer glass in his face, he lost his eye. He suffered terriable injuries from it, When he got his money from his injuries they dicided to build a house instead of waisting it. Mind you half the money went to the solicter.
September 10, 201014 yr Author Thanks Elly. I rang my son Luke before and he said that the Murray River in Cobram where he lives is satrting to fall, what a relief he was packing. They start moving into their new home tomorrow. Here a few photos of the floods I was to scared to go any closer, they are a bit dark but it was after 5pm when I took them Edited September 10, 201014 yr by splat
