Posted September 7, 201014 yr hi everyone, just a couple questions if i may........... i have put my cobalt/violet cock with a new hen i bought recently and was wondering how long does it take for them to produce eggs ????? there are in a cabinet breeding cage with fresh seed every day plus also sprouted seed, vegetables, shell grit, etc etc they have been paired up now for 10 days. they are nice and warm as the breeding box is inside the house. the hen keeps going into the box itself all the time but i check and no eggs ???????? just wondering cause im keen to get some baby budgies. thanks in advance Ernie KRAWLR Edited September 7, 201014 yr by KRAWLR
September 8, 201014 yr A week to ten days after signs of mating. BUT often a bird newly brought in has to have a time to settle into the new routine, new food etc. And then there is a period of quarantine away from other birds for a minimum of 30 days.
