September 21, 201014 yr I still need to buy a whirly bird before shed is erected. You also need to be able to block it off for winter Block off the whirley bird? Why? It allows fresh air in, but does not provide a draught Wind Dave
September 21, 201014 yr Author You can get those thing that are draught stoppers that go on top of exhaust fans I will lookn into that if need.
September 21, 201014 yr Author Here is the shed, doesn't look much but it is 3mt x 3mt, 210cm high at wall and 254 high at peak in the middle. I think we are finishing the cementing on Thursday, can't wait . BUT shed probably won't go up until the following weekend because we need to wait for the cement to dry probably before we put the dyno bolts in.

BUT shed probably won't go up until the following weekend because we need to wait for the cement to dry probably before we put the dyno bolts in. All the steps you have to wait for made me think of all the waiting we do when breeding budgies. First wait for the birds to go into condition and bond. Then wait for them to lay eggs. Then count off the days on the calendar and wait for the eggs to hatch. Then wait two days between chicks, but after a few chicks you look back and realize that the time has gone by fast! I can never have an outdoor aviary, Splat, but I am enjoying watching your progress as you get yours!
September 21, 201014 yr Author Thankyou GB, Finnie and Squeak, I am really excited now. Tomorrow we finish the cementing off  Finnie how come you can never have an outdoor aviary, TOO COLD.
September 22, 201014 yr Author Temperory fence, and when we are working on it he gets tied up He watches from the veranda and sulks  Edited September 22, 201014 yr by splat
September 22, 201014 yr Author Here is how we stopped Jake from messing up my cementing area The cement mixer that hopefully Greg will be busting his back with tomorrow I can't wait
September 23, 201014 yr I am looking forward to seeing it all up, as I am sure you are looking forward to it.
September 23, 201014 yr Author Can't wait Dave, Hoping when Greg gets home from funeral we will start. Have to wait for cement to dry before putting shed up which is annoying. We are using dyno bolts to keep it in place. Then I have the hard task of lining it and that will be a slow process because of money because I am still paying off my car repair. As long as it is ready by next breeding season
September 23, 201014 yr Author We finished the cementing this arfo, gosh it was a pain in the backside too. I couldn't wait for us to finish it,I hated doing it Just have to do a little step where the door will be now. We plain on putting the shed up Saturday or Sunday week. Have to make sure the cement is really dry enough to take the dyno bolts.
September 23, 201014 yr Author No it might blow away, it is recommended to attach anchors straight away. So I just have to be patient
September 23, 201014 yr Thankyou GB, Finnie and Squeak, I am really excited now. Tomorrow we finish the cementing off Finnie how come you can never have an outdoor aviary, TOO COLD. Yes, too cold, which means too expensive to heat.
September 30, 201014 yr Author 2 more DAYs before SHED goes UP, I just can't wait now I got my whirly bird yesterday I almost bought one that was clear hard plastic, it is designed to be a sky light too but the guy talked me out of it saying that the tin ones last longer. BUT I thought it was a good idea though.

September 30, 201014 yr Author No actually the one I got was zinc colour and on special for $53.00 the colour ones $98.00 and the hard plastic sky light ones $98.00, the are smaller than the tin ones too but heavier. I kinda wished I had of got the sky light one now because I need all the extra light i can get in there.
