What are those poles just to the left of the beans, will they be in your way? And by the way, just what is a "broad bean"? If it's anything like a Lima bean, then I agree, worst vegetable ever! (Also, what are "chokoes"?)
September 7, 201014 yr Author Yes Finnie the poles have to go but the closest one is cemented in, I couldn't pull pull but Greg did last night. Broad beans are yuk thye are a big round type of pea thing, disgusting make me sick  Chockos are a big green oval type vege with spikes all over it. they are tasteless, they are a waste of space. Greg has decided not to gro thwm anymore as he doesn't like them much either. He cooked one this year by boiling it and my god it tasted like rotten socks  Last year he set the vine on fire to get rid of it but the silly things grew again this year. September 8, 201014 yr Rotten Socks?! Why would anyone grow such a vegetable? I don't think we have those over here. I'm glad Greg could get the pole out for you. There are just certain jobs that I way prefer my husband to use his muscles on, than to try it with mine, and kill my back, and still have no effect.
September 8, 201014 yr Author Worked on it yesterday for a while, got really angry because the lucerne is deep rooted, I couldn't dig it out or pull it or anything it was so hard and the puppy kept getting in the way so got annoyed. BUT I have done most of it. Aready to lay down some packing soil. BUT the rain has come again. aggrhh
September 9, 201014 yr Author Tell me about it, I am growing to ahte him, all the to the birdroom and back 3 times under my feet and jumping up on me, I stopped and did that turn around and with arms crossed and it does work until I look at him and he starts again. I really don't remember my cavs been like this. This is what I did yesterday, the wood is 3 mt 15 each piece. You can see that some lucerne is still in the way. you can see the yukky broadbeans there too This is a yukky choko The rain has stopped work again. But need to put packing sand under the frame wood before cementing Edited September 9, 201014 yr by splat
September 9, 201014 yr Nice Choko Splat, for those of you who don't enjoy cooking, Chokos are great in curries as they take on the curry flavor. Splat gave me some this year and they were yummy although I didn't get to eat the whole bag full. Cheers Clearwing

September 9, 201014 yr I would choke on a choko the way I see it...... any vegetable that órrible that you have to go to great lengths to disguise the flavour by cooking with other things isnt worth it. You may as well eat polystyrene They're all yours CW  PS Great job on the slab prep Splat ....its hard work. Edited September 9, 201014 yr by KAZ
September 9, 201014 yr Author Did a bit more work late his arvo. But I need Greg to dig out some more lucerne because I can't. Jake was much better behaved this arvo too as I turned my back on him heaps, I think he is learning, I am a cranky old so and so, I even told Greg off for letting Jake jump up on him after me growling at Jake all day.
September 11, 201014 yr Author I am so annoyed today. Because I was going to get the packing sand delivered, BUT Greg said I will get it Sat morning, well I am waiting patently and he decides to paint the bathroom first then he dicides to go get i t at 11.00 well it was closed Anyway at one a clock were saw the guy come back and he was in there with his loader and all BUT NO Greg had to wash is car first and then he decided to go get it but of caurse Daryl was gone again. SO NO PACKING SAND aggrrh Slack men I don't know I wanted the sand put down this weekend and cement next weekend. So annoying
September 11, 201014 yr I must say Splat........you have not got that man very well trained at all ..................methinks he needs a wake up call as his priorities are all out of whack.
September 11, 201014 yr Author No I can't Gb because I don't have a towbar on my little hyundai. It's too small to pull a trailer anyway. I really miss my ford when it comes to wanting to tow
September 14, 201014 yr Author Yes Yes , my packing soil is coming today, Jake and i walked down to the business and he just turned up so I asked to drop it off this arvo and the sand stuff for the cement later in the week. yahoo BUT more work for me.
