September 1, 201014 yr I think She is an YF Blue (violet?) Spangle. grey would be from the spangle maybe, is a light or darker black/grey? I htink she is moulting into her adult splumage, where the yellowface bleeds into the cheat feathers.
September 1, 201014 yr Author we just looked her over and we discussed it. It does appears to be mid range as far as dark. I have gotten her used to sitting on my finger, first time a hen has done that, they usually just try to bite me,lol. Given she is so young, I might just be able to get her used to me, for the time being anyways lol. I figured YF and possibly spangle.
September 2, 201014 yr Author A first for me, I actually got a hen to sit quietly on my finger. I can actually gently stroke her feathers with one finger. The last seven hens, hmmmm I've been bitten too many times to remember lol. I had been actually looking for a yellowface for sometime, but there were usually none around when we window shopped. We basically try to get birds we don't have, especially different variations and mutations. I think the only one we have more than one of is Stan and Harley, both are grey greens. I did actually see a true olive green there, so perhaps a later time grabbing the true olive green. She has been treated and all, now it's just waiting out the quarantine period. She hears the others down the other side of the house and chirps out. It is funny she keeps trying to look for them and they do the same.
