August 25, 201014 yr Video was really too bad light conditions to see properly, but besides that I do know what you are talking about. My first thoughts were canker or possibly megabacteria. Ecoli bacterial infection also shows sometimes in greenish dribble coming up and down the front of the chest. This can happen if bugs have got into food or water containers. Good luck at the vets. For now put a warm lamp by the cage.

Been to the Vet and got Spike checked out and he's not sure what the problem is yet!! A crop sample was taken and vet did the microscope bit and it's not Canker, and Spike has a good mix of bacteria which he said is good. He was pleased with Spikes general condition and said a budgie will vomit 3-4 times a day but Spike is doing it most of the time!!! The fresh poops looked good unlike the one I seen earlier on my hand I told the vet about which was clear with just little bit of white in the middle and that told him his kidneys where okay but no food had gone through... Next he was going to give a injection which would empty his crop quickly and re-test with the microscope, a 2 day stay in hospital has been recommended and he will phone me tomorrow.....

He will ring later this afternoon if Spike condition changes.....
August 27, 201014 yr I hope spike will be okay, at least the vet is trying. Really sorry about dad, it must be hard.
August 27, 201014 yr Author I hope spike will be okay, at least the vet is trying.Really sorry about dad, it must be hard. Thanks Splat I hope he will be okay too, I didn't hear anything this afternoon so all sounds good...Dad yeah he thinks it's his birthday today (it was in March).....Is it an avian vet?The girl at the desk said he is when I rang, I picked up one of his business cards on the way out and it says B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of veterinary sciences) is what it means to me don't know if avian is different?
August 27, 201014 yr An avian vet is one who specializes in just birds. I went to a non-avian vet once and they let the poor budgie out in the waiting room while a cat was there. She died. RIP Boofer..

RIP Boofer..Hi Ratzy, sorry what I meant was B.V.Sc. did that cover avian or was there more qualifications like B.V.A.Sc. in their title? they let your bird out while there was a cat there Idiots Hi gang another update.....Got Spike back about noon Yayyy!!! I have to give him 0.05ml of Nilstat oral capsules (diluted to 250000iu/ml) by mouth twice daily + 0.05ml of Flagyl Syrup also twice daily (this will be fun never done it before) and take him back on Monday morning... August 28, 201014 yr Mag, next time you ever have a vet appointment ask them to teach you how to crop feed.........and administer drugs by crop. A valuable skill needed to be learnt and if you are paying for a vet visit you may as well get them to show you. You will need a 14 guage crop needle. Its easier to be sure a bird get meds by crop rather than the other ways.
September 1, 201014 yr Author Hello again BBC Another update from monday (been busy) Psittacosis the vet says even though Positive diagnosis can be difficult, if it's deep in the lining of the crop a scraping can be done but he doesn't like to do it as that can get infected... Spike was on his meds for 5 full days twice a day much to his dislike He seems very good now but I think he's starting to do it again and more often each day Spike pooped on my hand just a few hours ago and it was a very dark green with white center....
