Is it okay to place a swag of millet in the box for the hen? He feeds her, but I figure the millet will help her as well. We have veggies, egg and biscuit and seed in the cage,from what he eats. Just curious about the millet, I know someone said about for the chicks when they are older. I figure she would just throw it out if she didn't want it,lol. She is a sure bet for cleaning house, lol esp right before she started to lay. The oldest chick is four days old.

I do and once chicks in the nestbox reach two weeks of age I also start adding seed to the bedding

I always put millet in there. I find it saves Mum's from plucking at other things, like down.
