the leaves are actually better for them than the head :fear

My birds eat anything broccoli. Sometimes I let the broccoli go to flower and then rip out the whole plant and hang it upside down from the roof, the birds go nuts for it. Love the little yellow flowers and seed heads especially. Leaves are great too :blink:

Do give them the broccoli. All parts of it are safe. It is a great vegetable because it has different textures for them to experiment with. My birds have it almost every day. Some days, there are only the finest fibres left over. I think home grown broccoli would be superb.
