YAY my first budgie has hatched one of five fertile eggs!!

 

The father is a Normal Sky Blue

Mother is a DF white i think it is called??

 

Any idea on what offspring may be???

 

Also is there anything i should be ading to the breeding cage so i get healthy happy babies?

DF White Spangle is what it should be called. if the father isn't split anything, you will get all blue spangles. Other then the normal breeding food (veggies etc. ) , just make sure you have plenty of seed in their for them to make into crop milk.

Is it normal for the cock the cock to be in and out of the nest all day and then at night for him to sleep as far away from the box as he can lol?

all bird act a bit different, but that is normal for a male to enter the box and help with feeding.

Yes i know about them going in the box to feed the hen. But he spends all day in there and then at night its like it is the forbidden place lol maby the hen gave him a talking too LOL

extra veg isnt just always enough

one thing does anoy me here on this sight is their is so many things saying what you can give extra and also things saying that you should be feeding your pairs extra min vits and stuff to get them into a good condition yet no one seems to do this

at least a month before pairing they should be getting feed prepritive food ready for the prosses of laying mateing rearing extra

just dont people inform themselves of things before deciding to breed these days

should cause then they wouldnt need to ask simple basic stuff that is so borring and everywhere on this bird sight

Great news about your hatching As far as what to feed, GB is right, this should all be in place well before birds begin to breed not an afterthought.

dark eyed chick just means its not cinnamon or rec pied or df spangle or albino lutino fellow clearbody extra...

Second Egg hatched yesterday and Third this morning i went opened the box today to actually watch it happen its pretty awesome to watch never seen it before. lol the little baby had the shell on his head like a little helmet.

For some bizar reason the first hatchling died last night i am not sure as to why.. Any ideas i dont want this to happen again the other chicks are happy and chirpy...

Could be any reason Jack. Was there food in its crop......if so what consistency of food ? Was the chick a normal colour ?
