September 20, 201014 yr Author :rip: I am off to Melbourne for the Western Suburbs auction in October so I needed to save some pennies for that Thinking like that, I let a few slip by that I would not normally. Edited September 20, 201014 yr by KAZ
September 20, 201014 yr Some great looking birds there. Makes me think we are paying overs here at some auctions
September 21, 201014 yr I bought Lots 38 and 111 ( both pictured ) Karen as you know I didnt think that Pied cock you purchased was going to sell. I got frustrated. In the end I should have just shut up and bought him myself! I hope he goes well for you.

I also got a nice pied off Jan McMahon due to a pre arrangement
September 21, 201014 yr The top price was $550 for the cinnamon sky hen....... Don't ask me how I know that! I also bought lot 37 and 21. 37 specifically for the violet although he is a smaller bird but with enough going for him for me to add him to my stud. And a very solid opaline grey green of Gary Armstrongs particularly for that very nice directional feather that his stud has and mine has less of! The cinnamon sky hen was coming home with me no matter what AND she is only 2010 rung bird and very very nice apart from turned toe on one foot which I was more than willing to risk. Very happy! I'll get some pics if people are interested - violet sky already pictured above. Edited September 21, 201014 yr by nubbly5
September 21, 201014 yr Gina the Cinnamon Sky hen is a very nice bird. Long with a bit of width. I asked Cec what she was bred from and he couldnt remember. That happens to our Senior cits. Mind you nobody claimed the Pensioner discount I was offering for those who had a Seniors Card. Edited September 21, 201014 yr by JeffL
September 21, 201014 yr You arent but I am Hey I just realised that Karen took down my picture. So much for my 15 minutes of fame. Edited September 21, 201014 yr by JeffL
September 22, 201014 yr Great idea Kaz on the photos of the birds , lots and price. Now we know what you paid for them But then if that was me yes I would put up the price to you guys but Greg would be told different . Like my Derango and Skoric hen I paid $80 for her told Greg I paid $20. he fell for it but then when I was talking about getting rid of my clearbody I blurted out but he cost $$$$ and the sky hen $$$ he caught me out and said I thought you only paid this much  When I bought the Last 2 birds a few weeks ago he didn't ask me so I didn't tell him. BUT I think he has an idea

September 22, 201014 yr Pics of my purchases. Lot 21 - Grey Green Opaline Cock - 2010 rung - $160 I think this guy is the bargain of the year. He is a big cock bird with a good bit of style and the feather direction I'm looking for but he is noticeably short in the mask BUT mask is not too much of an issue for me so I think he'll add to what I have. Lot 37 - Sky Violet Opaline Cock - 2009 rung - $150 Small but probably bred from some quality stock and I do want some violet to play around with that is on something other than my tiny clearwings. Lot 47 Cinnamon Skyblue Hen - 2010 rung - $550 - I would have paid more for this hen. She was being sold by the widow of one of our members who recently passed away so in my mind not likely to be one of those super birds that doesn't breed. I know that sounds kinda awful but...... And she is a nice young hen, good size, lovely feather. Fingers crossed that she breeds..... Edited September 22, 201014 yr by nubbly5
