2 New Babies

Hi there, no pics as yet as the camera batteries died, but I have 2 new budgies, both 6-7 weeks old according to the petshop.

I'm not sure on the mutation (one is grey and the other is yellow pied i think) but they both have purply pink ceres, one with blue rings around the nares. I've done a lot of reading and know that if it has white, it's a female, but what if it has blue rings?

Thanks

Rachel

Forget what you have heard about "rings around nares" ...............................

all you need to remember is any white on a budgies cere makes it female and a bright pinky purple cere on a young budgie makes it male.

without pics i would think males too the blue might be due to the age and the ceres changing to the adult colouring.
