Posted August 12, 201015 yr Hi there, no pics as yet as the camera batteries died, but I have 2 new budgies, both 6-7 weeks old according to the petshop. I'm not sure on the mutation (one is grey and the other is yellow pied i think) but they both have purply pink ceres, one with blue rings around the nares. I've done a lot of reading and know that if it has white, it's a female, but what if it has blue rings? Thanks Rachel
August 12, 201015 yr Forget what you have heard about "rings around nares" ............................... all you need to remember is any white on a budgies cere makes it female and a bright pinky purple cere on a young budgie makes it male. :happy-dancing: Edited August 12, 201015 yr by KAZ
August 12, 201015 yr without pics i would think males too the blue might be due to the age and the ceres changing to the adult colouring.
