Posted August 7, 201014 yr I finally filled my aviary with 6 new budgies and I want to try my hand at guessing their mutations. I believe this is a type 1 yellow face, opaline greywing. She may be a dilute. This budgie, Chops, has me confused. He is a lightgreen male, cinnamon wing I think. I hope I am close!
August 8, 201014 yr throat spots look cinnamon not grey so i think you are correct, shots with the tail can help.

August 9, 201014 yr Author Looks grey from here but then my computer isn't very accurate. Your computer is fine. My camera is not accurate. I just realized that the first one is a yellow face 2, not yellow face 1 which my camera shows. I noticed that today when I was standing next to her. In person, the second one's markings are a shade of brown. Here is his tail: Looks grey from here too: The depth of his wing color is greatly different than my other greywing. Granted, they are not the same mutation. If the overall consensus is greywing, I will accept that.
August 9, 201014 yr The first bird is a single factor Yellowface Mutant II Opaline Clearwing. Second bird is Greywing by the looks of it. If Cinnamon I would expect the feet to be more pinkish. Greywing markings on a green bird can sometimes produce an illusion of brown markings caused by the presence of yellow pigment.
