Chicks Mutations - Pair 2

More chicks! Opinions on mutations appreciated :)

Here are the parents:

The hen is a YF2 recessive pied, not too sure about the cock? Dominant pied or DF? He is also opaline.

They had a very small clutch of three:

Chick 1 - Male

He is mostly white/yellow, just a little bit of blue around neck and lower abdomen, and rump. All tail feathers are white/yellow.

Chick 2 - Female

Her breast and abdomen are mostly white with some blue here and there, much like dad's but a lot more white. All tail feathers are white/yellow.

He is the only one that has blue tail feathers. He also has a lot more blue than the others. His breast and abdomen look much like dad's.

You can see the faint yellow on their masks and wings, just like their mom. They all have white flights. What do you think?

he has some signs of being DF and as all three chicks are dom.pied gives more weight to that belief.

I think the dad is not DF dom pied but single factor. You could say it was a DF dom pied result maybe if more chicks and over more clutches to prove it, but I say he is single factor dom pied. He has a blue cere also which a SF dom pied male has. DF dom pieds have pink or two colour ceres ( pink and blue patches ).

Better still post a picture of the whole of his back as well.

i didn't state that i was 100% that he was DF just it is possible. i would want to see more chicks over other breedings too before saying for sure.

and i forgot about the cere as well

I agree Kaz but all dom pieds even from a smaller clutch starts to give you the idea that he may well be DF dom. A few more round from him will give you more of a conclusion though.

Well......we have seen "half"a bird and not the back half :P And three chicks can be half a clutch in a lot of cases.....so I wait to see the whole bird and I wait for other results from his future chicks.

And he does have pink on his cere, it turns purple-ish when he is in breeding condition.

Hope that helps, won't be having any more chicks from him anytime soon, since I'm not breeding for a while.

I stick to what I said originally and he is single factor dominant pied

Well more clutches will be the teller. As soon as a non dom pied pops up you can be 100% sure he is SF until then it's either way really.
