Posted August 4, 201015 yr Hi i am wondering how do you get rings for young chicks when you aren't a member of a budgie club?? I have already done my 8 birds with the split rings. And acording to the instructions i did it propely and all is well.
August 4, 201015 yr Hi , if you have a bird society in your area you can purchase number rings and split ring through them, but as for club rings you need to be a member of a club to buy them, I have seen budgie rings on ebay so have a look there.

August 4, 201015 yr Why dont you use these ? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-RINGS-4-mm-ALU...3#ht_1316wt_911
August 4, 201015 yr sorry but it states "all rings are split" in the add. Yes, I know that. But as they are numbered too and Jack isnt a show breeder, maybe he can use them.
August 4, 201015 yr Jack, you could contact Chapman Rings Unit 2/10 Hearne St Mortdale NSW 2223 (02) 9533-3785 You can get closed metal with numbers, year and also your own code if you wish. I get my rings direct from them if I don't get club rings.

August 5, 201015 yr sorry but it states "all rings are split" in the add. Yes, I know that. But as they are numbered too and Jack isnt a show breeder, maybe he can use them. i just got the impression that he wanted non-split ones. not just numbers.
August 5, 201015 yr Author I just want some rings to put on the babies that are about to hatch just so i can identify them. I figure seeing as you can only put closed rings on babies and they are much more permanant it would make sense to do this with the babies. It is just for identification for me so i can note when the were born ext in the budgirigar program. So they only have to have numbers. I currenty have 1-20 in split rings. And have used 8 of those.tp://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-RINGS-4-mm-ALU...3#ht_1316wt_911 That is the person i brought the split rings off with no worries at all. Should i just use the split rings i already have for the babbies?
August 5, 201015 yr Why not join a club and get rings and other help you may need there. Check BCV website for details of club location. cheers Clearwing
