I was just wondering, how do you tell if a budgie is split rec pied if there is no spot? Is there sometimes like.... a couple of clear toenails or something? With cockatiels I think that is how you tell? I only asked because Marigold has a clear nail and I came across something on the net saying that clear nails meant they were split pied?

No there is no other way to tell that I am aware of.

Nup and spot on the head doesn't necessarily mean it's split rec pied either.
