Budgie Laying Egg

Featured Replies

Posted

I have one budgie a female which i have had for about a year. About 3 weeks ago she laid her first egg. Then again 3 days ago she laid another egg and has everyday since. I was wondering if this was normal as I had a female budgie a few years ago and she never laid any eggs. I was also wondering how often this might happen.

Have you a male with her ?

Also......budgies lay every two days as a rule not every day......are you sure of the timing of the eggs ?

No I don't have a male with her. I think she had the first egg on Tuesday but not sure now but she definately had an egg yesterday afternoon and then again this afternoon.

I'm not sure, but I've heard someone say before that if you change the perches and everything around in her cage, it might disrupt her from laying. Might be worth a try. :P Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks i will try that and see if it makes a difference
