July 29, 201014 yr Nice Birds, mum is a nice bird, and the cock matches her well. So because you got normals, that means that the dad isn't split anything sex-linked?
July 29, 201014 yr Author Nice Birds, mum is a nice bird, and the cock matches her well. So because you got normals, that means that the dad isn't split anything sex-linked? no thats not correct well in thery yes but in reality no he may be split but i just didnt get one this round so i will leave go aain and see what second round produces even if second round comes out all normal chances are he still could be split but probability of it is less as he was paired with a cin hen so you would thing that in over two rounds provided i get more chicks next time he would be not split but still i wont be happy hes / nothing untill i get at least 4 clutches out of him and at least 10 normal chicks (not in row and not nesacerily with same hen but if he is / nothing hes the bird ive been looking for for my albino lines and lacewing lines

July 29, 201014 yr Author Either you have dainty hands or these chicks are a whopping great handful !! I think you are going to surprise the *** out of your fellow club members in a very short space of time GB !!! well thank you kaz i must say im very pleased with my last seasons decisions of pairings and although i dont have huge man hands they are defenantly not dainty these chicks the one you have reshown particular is huge i must say and positive its a hen
August 2, 201014 yr Author sky blue last chick grey chick number two number one this chick is quiet large its as long as my hand already and only coming 4 weeks good and heavy also
August 2, 201014 yr I agree That last chick looks like a handful! ....have you been slipping them steriods? haha joking.
August 2, 201014 yr Author Humungous chicks Cant wait to see them all grown up i know well john did say to me when he gifted me the cock that he was not anything to look at but that he would help me get started and i waited a whole year before breeding with him i just never really thought i had a hen good enough but i dont think that would make a difference steroids lol man id hate to of feed these chicks steroids as they'd get stuck in the boxes trying to get out the whole letting mum in dad go another round i think
August 2, 201014 yr Author letting mum in dad go another round i think I think thats a very good idea me thinks too cheers dave im quiet exited about them lattly though i must admit some the chicks comming out have made me look at my normal sized show bird chicks and want to just move them on its very hard when some are so so good and others are very average i have to keep saying to myself their just fry in pans as so i dont move something that may actually be very good on as its small looking or thin very hard to do

August 16, 201014 yr Author Looking great !! Open cage door is taking a chance ?? :glare: thanks kaz i think their okay as for lossing any ... no not with my babys in fact i prefer to do it like that as when i change seed and soft food i quiet often forget doors my babys are usually fairly tame and dont try fly out cage and im in the house with other doors secured a safe room if they did get out i also leave doors open to my breeding pairs when feeding and cleaning comming back and forward to their cage with diffrent things for them so they are all quiet use to me and the door being open a lot i would highly recommend that no one did this bar me my birds have been accustom to this since for ever and would be a huge risk for anyone to try this .... i do it only simply as i know i can but their are some birds that see freedom and thats it gone but not mine they are inside anyhow Edited August 16, 201014 yr by GenericBlue
