Our one hen is laying eggs, four to date. We are wondering if they will trigger the other six pairs of budgies into breeding mode? We don't have nesting boxes in any of the other cages. We were wondering, just so we don't get caught off guard again. The cages are all within close proximity of each other. I do know of one other pair that has had "budgie love", but that was about two months ago, but nothing ever came of it.

just because one is breeding will not set the others off if they are in a separate cage.

If you want other pairs to breed, I think you would need to add breeding box's to their cages. I don't think anything will come from mating unless they have box's. Other's may advise you better I have only bred for 18mths or so.
