So my last update of this thread before I start a new one for the coming season.

I had an emotionally taxing year last year and I did lose sight of my birds for a while there. Never the less I have a few very nice youngsters from the season the two above plus this fellow - full brother to the green fellow. A super grey boy again grandson of the bird that came 10th at the Tassie Nats.

Also this fellow. He is a split lacewing (different from the bird I showed in my last post). I love his directional feather - just an all round nice bird. Good size too. Son of 3rd place Nats lacewing.

I also ended up with a good number of very usable fallows and some really strong hens. Some of which you can see when I start my new breeding season thread.

Wow they are stunning looking birds nubbly. well done.

Some great birds. That light green and cinnamon are rippers.

You must be happy with them Nubbly.

Thanks guys!

Here's hoping for a good 2011/2012 season.......

Sounds like there are a few problems going around fingers crossed that we have a smooth one this year. Last year wasn't much cop but the quality was there so I shouldn't complain.

I may have missed it earlier, but why did you name a budgie Holy Cr@p?

Was it because of it's size?

Well, when you look into a nest of youngsters and go "Holy Cr*p", it just seemed like the right name :)

LOL..That's a good reason to call the bird holy ****..

On a serous Note.. Nubbly I hope you really have a better breeding season than me.

My sucks. very disappointing.

Yeah been reading about your drama's. You get that sometimes unfortunately but hopefully your season improves as the weather evens out. I've found that wildly fluctuating weather always seems to give bad breeding results for some reason - probably just that bit of added stress on the birds...

We did not have a fantastic year last year so hoping my run this year is better.

My avian vet told me that the size of each chick from one of my pairings would be massive. Like little monsters.

Anyway, if one is really big, nubbly, would it be okay to call it Holy Cr@p? HC for short, or is the name copyrighted, LOL.

I know you didn't name your that because if his size, but I think it suits a massive, big budgie.

You can say no if you want, I just wanted to know if it's okay by you, I absolutely love yor budgies, I adore them.
