Babys In With Adults?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I posted anothers Ques earlier but now also needed to know..

I have 6budgies atm..

4 are adults 2 are babies

Should i seperate the babies out of the avairy so they dont try and breed?

The adults are 12m plus and babies are about 3months babies are store bought adults are also but all the adults have deep ( creasts?Sears?) cant remember which one.So i think they are ready to breed

As i am going to put breeding boxes in the avairy..

If you are colony breeding, and I will state outright that I am not a fan, then there should be no bird in the aviary younger than 12 months old.

I am assuming you have twice as many nestboxes as there are pairs, that all nestboxes are located at the one height, and so forth????

Agree with Dave. You need another place for the under 12 month olds to be......nowhere near a nestbox. Another aviary needed for your juveniles.
