August 9, 201014 yr Author Hmmmm bugger is right Dean, I am so depressed at the moment BUT it could of been worse , I was ment to go to Bendigo yesterday but didn't and it could of happened halve way over there or tomorrow night is my budgie meeting and it could of happened on the way over there and I would of been stuck on the siade of the road in the pitch black terrified and NO one to help. SO on the bright side I was lucky it happened today in broad daylight and was able to get help. So I guess I was lucky I chose to go for a spin today.
August 9, 201014 yr Real bad news Mate You seem to struggle for every little thing, whether its financial or moral support. Its about time that all changed. You are the typical australian UNDERDOG and I think you will have your day one day and it may be sooner than you think.
August 9, 201014 yr Author Thanks kaz all is good but I did say to Greg tonight when I was really down and feeling sorry for myself, is that I am wondering when something will go my way for a change. I wish. But this is not going to set me back, I will work something out so I can get my new breedroom once I get mobile again and the machanic all paid off. I could always sell some good birds that will nearly do it
August 13, 201014 yr Author Well I have made up my mind, even though I cooked my car which is devastating in is own right, the machanic is trying to work out what will be cheaper, new head and do the ring, a second hand motor and I don't know something else. ANY I have decided why should I go without my new breedroom when I have been trying sooooo hard to save for it. So I am getting it, next week I am ordering it. So watch this space. BUT it will be a very slow progress. My plan is get the shed and let it sit there for a while against the fence because it is too wet to cement at the moment anyway. BUT then once it warms up a bit do the slab then put the shed up. But then it will be slow saving the money for the lining ect and paying for my car. Â It will be ready hopefully for next year breeding. Â I kinda have this idea that once breeding room is finished all my breeding birds will be in there and when you walk into my exiting breed room the 1st section will be holding area for birds as there are 4 big cages there plus hospital cage and the second section will be storage for seed etc then you walk into my baby aviary which I may keep or make into a holding area too because I am thinking of making my newest part of my existing breed roo which is 6 feet wide and 11 feet long into 2 flights. Anyway can't wait
August 13, 201014 yr chin up hun :glare: what ever you do dont sell your good birds  if any sell your least if any at all i would recommend not selling any  it took 2 years for my aviary to be made and now my breeding room side is still not made believe me darl it may seem like everythings **** but i know what thats like the feeling of defeat before you've even begin life only tosses at us what we can handle even if it seems like we can not you are out in the sticks pretty much alone i know what thats like i may not be in the sticks but im pretty much alone also i get the odd drop in visitor but nothing more than a few bird dudes passing by which i wouldn't even have if i didn't start breeding show birds  so i understand it can be tough specially when you see how organized and good some their set ups are and you feel like your so so behind with it all you and many others including myself may not have some the money others have or the expensive birds that you think man that could of brought me 10 garden sheds all fully lined and set up but mate we have something else we have the determination to keep on keeping on and the good feeling you get when you have achieved a task set for ourselves that's a feeling no money can buy the knowing that you achieved what you set out to do  sure these people all worked hard for their money so deserve what they decide to spend it on but as i experienced at my last auction even if i had of saved my **** off for two years i still wouldn't have achieved percussing any bird i set my golds on and why well just way things are but what i do know is like kaz said your time will come and everything will fall into place and all you need to do is stay positive and not feel like the worlds got it in for you i may not of got a bird at auction but i got three birds i would never of ever got at any auction anywhere but a week or two latter and i truly believe it was as i was positive and happy to just keep on keeping on with the birds my money could buy as it turns out although i kept my auction money and offered to pay for the three birds i got i was gifted them that to me was a sure sign that my positivity and not wishing i had lots of money to make it up their with a chance it was clearly the best thing i could have done just stayed true to me and my financial ability and just kept on keeping on you know the birds im referring too i truly think that the only reason that i am getting anywhere in this game is because of my sheer determination and a few good people whom have seen my want of all this and felt or seen my determination and know when it comes to affordability and the whole depressing knowledge that my bird room and aviary just aint all that but that im happy and proud of it because simply its all i have and most probably ever will have not only have some these people reminded me that they once had less than myself but they took if a pone their own good will and nature's to assist me so i could move forward in achieving my dream which in all honesty i know deep down will not ever be for-filled (not all these people are well off ) but when somethings so easily acquired its less appreciated from my experience and their fore taken for granted their fore could never be a dream and if we dont have dreams or goals we have nothing so splat all i say is hang in their buddy everyone has their golden year i feel mine is this year i been waiting 36 years for a break and finally i got it you will get yours you will see and when you do you will feel so good that you stayed true to whom you are and true to yourself that you will feel on top off the whole world Edited August 13, 201014 yr by KAZ
August 13, 201014 yr I know birds that have gone to the nationals and the owner bred them in a 6 ft by 4 ft aviary. Splat you have " smarts" and you know what you are doing and you have a dedicated plan. You could do it in a half sized garden shed with the knowledge you have. You have already figured out you can do it even without the input of your partner. Â So.........go for it, even in small doses. You will get there sooner than most of us
August 13, 201014 yr Author Thanks GB and Kaz, but I have decided today that I am going to get my shed. I think, I am still waiting on news of my car, yesterday he said I did a really good TOP job of cooking it AND the way I see it I have been saving and planning for a while now so why should it all come to an end. As for knowing what I am doing this year I am quite lost in my breeding plans Kaz BUT I took a step back the other day and relised what i was doing wrong. And that was bringing in to many outcrosses to early, so now I am focusing on my own birds as I did for the last few years. Most of my birds don't need outcrosses yet. If anything most of them need to go back into my line not out again. So I have my fingers crossed that my plans work :glare:

August 13, 201014 yr yes GB watch them turn out   you see that is exactly what you must do i cant talk im culling young birds constantly but im at different stage than you and some family lines nothing will leave home till it dies but in saying this i have very small flight and only room to home around 80 birds mabe one hundred but no more thats max limit my happy place is 70 in flight so i have to keep only the best or the well bred birds im actually finishing up my breeding till the chicks molt out or ill have no room most my birds are young so i have ability to not breed for 8 months or so while i watch them grow im still so new im still lost myself at what i keep and what i get rid of
August 14, 201014 yr Author Just got the report on my car, I am up for about $400. for a second motor but they need to do a test on it to make sure the rings are good etc, $200 for a set of hoses about $80. for a water pump and money a gasket plus fitting it and he said all up bit over $1000. BUT he said for a new head was 1200 with out tax on it, so this is the cheaper way to go and I should have my car back by the end of next week if all goes well. Best news is I am allowed to pay it off so that is why I am getting shed
