Hi, just interested why the seed is put on the bottom of the cage when showing?

On a show day counting travel the birds might be in their show cages for up to or over 12 hours. The birds need to eat in this time and thus the seed in the show cages, as well as the mini drinkers with water in them. Birds being shown should not suffer because they are on show.

Hi, yes of course they need to eat, I just wondered why it was on the ground instead of a bowl, is that for aesthetics?.
