For the picky people, that song is in the wrong tense, I WENT to the zoo. Taronga Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo, which is a very open zoo with animals seperated by people by a moat in most places. This means you can get up pretty close to most animals, and they try to recreate the natural habitats as much as possible. The Zoo mainly focuses on African animals, but there are some South American and Asian animals there, as well as some Aussie animals, but it is more like the African plains, so there are no real aquatic exhibitions, so no Fairy Penguins, Seals, or even fish, but plenty of giraffes, rhino, hippos, the only African elephants in Australia, and a few other creatures. I took my two eldest nephews, Aidan (10) and Bayley (7) and we all had a good time. Here are a few pics I took. It is a good holiday for anyone seking to go.

its a great zoo.. infact probably the best ive been to

 

it is very animal friendly, that is it provides well for the animals care and

allows quite large paddocks opposed to enclosures for the animals to roam, like in the wild

 

did you ride a bicycle around the zoo dave??

i did it was so much fun!, when do you ever get to ride a bike around a zoo?

i guess its sort of like a national park, with a zoo in it you could say, they

animalks are spread far apart, i dont know if i could have walked around it,

 

its like a safari, but the animalks are contained would be the best way to put it
