July 30, 201014 yr Author All kindie cage babies were moved today.....into a kindie cage twice the size as they seemed cramped. You should have seen them playing HELICOPTER they were flapping wings like crazy and rising into the air trying to work out how to get higher up the cage. Funny as
July 30, 201014 yr Author kaz why do you keep a heat lamp on for babys till what age may i ask please I only have a warm lamp on for babies newly fledged and newly into kindie cage. As long as any look fluffed up or not eating well enough yet, they have the lamp on one end of the cage. Any that need it go to the warmth. Its hasnt been on the kindie cage for over a week now. It was on before as two new babies went into the kindie cage. Also, having a lamp on the kindie cage at night encourages them to eat more through the night. Gets cold in the breeding room at night lately too. Edited July 30, 201014 yr by KAZ
August 2, 201014 yr Author A few babies went out into the aviary yesterday and today they seem to have adapted well. Flying all around, not looking freaked out, and making friends on the perches.
August 8, 201014 yr Author The rest of the babies went out into the flights yesterday and all are coping well. Two were playing wall tennis against some walls and windows until they got their bearings but all was good in the end by the end of the day they had all found their food, found their water, found their wings and found their perches....... so all is well
