okay cool!

thanks ratzy!

i didnt realise how blue the mauves are, i always thought they were just grey!

but they are actually a nice silvery blue colour... beautiful!

he is still doing well, and e likes his blankie

PS: how do i give cheek rubs?

and were about on the face are they given?

do i do it with my finger?

The cheek patches are the best spot for cheek rubs. Is he eating up still?

i find the back of neck then slowly work my finger around like a massage just bellow his top of head and the back

then round to behind ears then cheek when hes looking at you

talking to him as you do this

im soooooooooooooo glad hes doing well he will b great little freind mate

blankie they love them lol

but only as treat when out

Sounds good now A.boy. :D You will probably find his colour changes again after his first moult. About 3 mths. when he moults out his baby bars.

Glad that he's definately eating so he's off to a good start now. Keep up the good work. :what:

P.S "Banjo" sounds good.

What colour do mauves change to? My mauve is turning bright blue? Is that normal?

hi all

just an update on Banjo

he is doing great still, and he is eating heaps!! greedy guts

his poos are hard and normal looking

he has a clean bum

and he is getting to like me more

when i am in the room he hops of his perch down to the cage door and stares at me

so i lift the door up and he jumps out onto my hand

im trying to get him to fly back to me, not luck yet, and i am also training him to hop back onto my hand

i tried the cheek rubs, but he doesnt like them, i think im doing it wrong :(

ill try again!

PS: thats wierd ratzy a bright blue???

di your look a silvery blue when it was younger?

show us a picture of it recently =]

i am taking some more pics of him tommorrow

alpaca boy

Great news

PS Mauves come in all kinds of coloured shadings.

Yeah, she is just starting to turn the same shade as Skye ( cobalt ). You can see the colour on the rump, it it progressing slowly. I also just noticed Lexi has deeper colour coming through as well. Thimble is weird as when her tail grew in it was a deep violet.

He is doing well, training him is a bit slow, but i have to say havnt really put much work into that yet, ut holidays have started so will be sure to spend more time with him!!

he likes to hide under my bed and behind the photoframes ???

im not sure why ?

PS: do we all still say he is a mauve?? :P

Edited by alpaca-boy

can i asked why you felt it nececary to clip his wings

i truly dont understand why people do this youhad the opitunity to have a very tame bird that trusted you

and you cut its wings off

id be hiding too :P

how hard is it to sit in a room with blinds pulled with just a crack so you can still see fine

and do nothing but interact with bird for 15 minits a day

even with light on

if the bird flys off to high spot yousimply just hope on chair as talking to it and placeyour hand around it andbring it back to where youwant it

they soon get the idea that its pointless flying off as your just going to retreve it straight away

no need to clip anything

but each to their own

and hes looking great

:D

He's looking great! My holidays are almost finished..............
