Hi, this is my first lot of chicks, and am enquiring about the sex of them. My photography skills aren't great, taken in natural light, no flash, but kind of hard to get the chicks to stay still, they are Olympic runners! I have included Mum & Dad too.

 

Mum (Gladys) on left, Dad (Harry) on right

 

 

Chick 1 - 30 days old - (looks white but has a tinge of yellow at tips of tail & wing)

 

 

Chick 2 - 28 days old (looks exactly like Dad)

 

Chick 3 - 26 days old (looks exactly like Dad)

 

Chick 4 - 23 days old ( I think same as Mum)

wow their beautiful are you happy you should be happy

 

if the first one has tinge of yellow on its tail and wings it will moult out with a yellow face

and before anyone says it wont IT MAY may not as my birds did same but the yellow feathers didnt come on face till moult and not all at once the white ones were slowly replaced with yellow ones

(this may not happen but its possable) keep that in mind

Thanks GB I am, but I have found it very stressful (I'm a worrier!). She is a good mum just as you said she would be, and Harry has been fantastic too. Not to sure I will do this again, I kept waiting for things to go wrong. My friends can buy their own birds! I am kind of hoping Chick 1 stays white, but will be happy with whatever colour it turns out to be. Once again, thank you for all your advice!

 

Rachel, thank you, Chick 4 is actually the friendliest too, and looks so scruffy compared to the others, as it's so much younger.

you got a type 1 yf their first chick

so harry holds type 1 yellowface

harry looks like a goldenface single factor to me....so chick #2 and #3 should be goldenface single factor as well....they will look like dad after their first couple of moults.
