Posted June 10, 201014 yr Just wondering if anyone else has had the frustrating problem of hens that no matter what you do,do not fill eggs. This is Jewel my problem girl, shes about 3. She has been paired several times to different boys some proven. I AI her last time with no joy. But like all determined people i decided i would give her one last go before she goes into my retirement cage. She is in with a boy this time who filled 9/9 eggs his last round and she is also being AI with another bird who has been knoen to fill. 4 eggs so far with none showing fertile yet. So wish me luck. The picture of her is an old one when she was still quite young. She is in condition now and she always pairs up and goes through the usual process. I have seen her jump away when the Cock tries to do his part so this may be the main problem. I could have missed with the AI last time. Hence giving it another go.

His a 2008(Black Ringer)Bird bought him last year from a fellow breeder. Have already had 6 chicks off him so he does fill eggs thats why i used him plus he is in condition at the moment and producing heaps off sperm. picture was taken when he was in his last moult though.
