Healthy Beaks

I have a 6 month old female budgie whos beak has gone from pale pink to dark brown/red and looks dry. Is this normal, I am a little concerned there is something wrong. Please advise....

Is it the beak or the top of the beak were the nostrils are (Cere)??? Would help with pictures, but if its the Cere then this is normal for a female budgie, just means shes coming into her breeding season.

She is in what is called BREEDING CONDITION. All normal and not an indication of actual "old enough to breed" but all normal.

She may also be around her moult which combined with the age and coming into breeding condition will make her cranky and nippy.
