Big Red Bump On Budgies Neck

Featured Replies

Hello,

My budgie has a big red bump on her neck, its been there for a few weeks..

Before that i noticed that she is scratching it against the branch, and few weeks ago big bump appeared.. I dont know what is the reason, i give her Sluis or Prestige food, she gets fresh branches from outside (not next to the road ofcource, from the field) and fresh water, sometimes i give her vegetables or fruits, but she doesnt want them at all, she never had..

I did a picture of her too, to show you what do I mean:

Obviouslt she is sick, she sleeps all the time, and her head is always on the side where the bump is. Her poop is watery.

I had this happen to my budgie Auzzie around his vent area, I don't want to upset you but it ended up being a tumour and he had to be put down, but this maybe different, so wait for other replies also. I would get your bird to a vet ASAP

i agree with others

vet job

find out what your dealing with it may be as simple as dave said a cyst if its hard lump possably cancerous either way needs atention to find out what then you can asses what from their needs doing

but unless bird is going light and not healthy looking if cancerous i dont see why u would need to put down

we dont put down unless in defenent pain and not eatting

I hate to say it, but if you don't get her to an AVIAN vet right now she will probably die. You said she was acting sick. Once budgies have passed this stage they usually die without vetinary treatment or at the very least a heat lamp and being kept hydrated. If this is over a few weeks ( tumour/cyst/thingy) then it may or may not be a quickly progressive tumour/cyst/other. You don't have her on a very good diet. They need fresh fruits and veggies every day. Even if she didn't like the veggies and fruit then you could at least keep trying. A poor diet can affect tumours ( I think ). Keep her under a heat source and hydrated and ring your AVIAN vet and ask the price if that is what you're worried about.
